Mr. Edward Tamba Ngandi hails from the Eastern Region of Sierra Leone from a small town called Kundundu in the Lei Chiefdom, Kono District.
He had primary school education in the Kono District and Secondary school education at the Holy Ghost Secondary in Segbwema. He obtained the Bachelors of Science Degree in Education in Chemistry and Mathematics from the Njala University College, University of Sierra Leone in 1972 and a Master of Philosophy degree from the University of Ibadan in Nigeria in 1978.
Mr. Ngandi has been a sportsman, an educational administrator and an altruistic person.
His work experience includes secondary school teaching to university administration, including University of Sierra Leone Registrar from where he retired in June 2012. There after the Minister of Education appointed him Registrar of the Ernest Bai Koroma University of Science and Technology where served for 4 years. He is currently inception Registrar at the Kono university of Science and Technology.
He is member of the Sierra Leone Red Cross Society and was National President of the Society during the Ebola Virus Diseases outbreak in 2014-2016. The vital role played by the Sierra Leone Red Cross Society to eradicate the dreaded disease is well acknowledged. Mr. Ngandi has been a parishioner of the St. Anthony’s Catholic Parish since mid-seventies where he served as Treasurer of the Parish Council, President of the Warden’s Union and now founding member of the Order of St. John Paul. He was also Treasurer, Leonard Cheshire Home for the disabled: Treasurer, Sierra Leone Red Cross Society: and Treasurer, Conservation Society of Sierra Leone.
Mr. Ngandi is a man of many parts, as a sports man, he was Secretary of the Sierra Leone Tennis Association for over 22 years.
