A Few Words About Us

Order of St. John Paul II

We accomplish our work through local Councils that are located within the dioceses in which we work. These Councils, working closely with their Bishop, identify the most important infrastructure needs and projects that will help meet those needs. Upon request from the Bishop or Council, the Order identifies members located throughout the world who have the technical expertise to successfully complete the identified projects and makes these individuals available to the Bishop and Council. When needed, we work with the Bishop to secure funding.

We need your help in accomplishing our mission. We ask you to pray for our success. We ask you to prayerfully consider joining our Order and making your expertise available to where it is most needed by the Church. And we ask you to consider supporting our Order’s work with your financial contributions.

May God bless you and give you his peace!

Our Mission

Consistent with the Catholic values of spiritual devotion, devotion to the family and the church, respect for and promotion of human dignity, and service to the Catholic Church, the Order provides technical, financial, and construction support for infrastructure improvements within Roman Catholic Dioceses throughout the world. These efforts are guided by and are consistent with Roman Catholic values and doctrines.

Our Values

  1. Develop a robust spiritual life through participating in the Sacred Liturgy and in practicing personal spiritual devotion.
  2. Develop a strong devotion to the family and to the Church. The Catholic married couple, with their children, form an image of the Trinitarian God.
  3. Develop a deep respect for and active promotion of human dignity. Human life is a precious gift from God.
  4. Engage in meaningful service to the Catholic Church.

Why We Do What We Do

Mathew 25:31-46

Jesus said to his disciples:

“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit upon his glorious throne, and all the nations will be assembled before him. And he will separate them one from another, as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will place the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.

Then the king will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father. Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me.’

Then the righteous will answer him and say, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? When did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? When did we see you ill or in prison, and visit you?’

And the king will say to them in reply, ‘Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.’

Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you accursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the Devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, a stranger and you gave me no welcome, naked and you gave me no clothing, ill and in prison, and you did not care for me.’

Then they will answer and say, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or ill or in prison, and not minister to your needs?’

He will answer them, ‘Amen, I say to you, what you did not do for one of these least ones, you did not do for me.’

And these will go off to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

Emblem of the Order

The Emblem of the Order features the colors white (purity), blue (holy service) and gold (glory of God).

The outer double circle of blue and gold, coupled with the central blue map of the world, represents man’s desire to move closer to God (encompassing outer circle of gold) through holy service to all of God’s creations (inner circle of blue).

Enclosed within the double circle is a gold and blue shield. The shield represents God defending his people. The colors selected are those of the Blessed Virgin Mary, for whom St. John Paul II had a strong devotion.

Behind the Cross is a circle that represents the rising (or setting) sun. The ambiguous sun reminds us that we are responsible to follow the Cross of Christ at all times.

The radiant beams that emanate from the Cross, remind us that the glory of Christ, the Glory of God, is brighter than even the sun.

The map of the world represents the totality of creation and our responsibility as Catholics to help spread the Good News of the Gospel to all people. It further represents our responsibility to respect the dignity of all human life in all of its stages. Finally, it represents that the reach of the good works of the Order of St. John Paul II extends to all people everywhere on earth.
